1. Corona, Cerveza de Barril
Yes, my friends, Corona is shipping the bad stuff up here to the Gringos. During a trip to Mexico I discovered these beauties in a bar in Allende, Coahulia. They've got a great taste, a cute bottle, and you can drink a ton of them and not get a hangover. As a matter of fact, I woke up feeling rather refreshed. Some will criticize my choosing a Mexican beer to top this list, but until you've tried it, and I have had many different people try it, you won't realize it is truly the best beer available anywhere today. Yeah, I said it, don't knock till you try it.
2. Heineken
Who took my Heiny? If there is any beer that is marketed to death, it is Heineken. The little green bottle that hails from the land where anything is legal, Heiny is almost always overpriced, and skunky. Why does it make one of the best beers? Because even after a trip across the Atlantic, in a bottle that lets all the light in, in a cargo hold I am sure is not refrigerated, it still tastes good. And I don't care who you are, you drink 12+ Heinys, you are feeling it. There is no other beer I know that honestly can claim that distinction.
3. Sapporo
To be honest, I don't know that much about Sapporo. I had my first one in a Japanese steakhouse several years ago, and by the time I finished off the second tall boy I thought I could speak Japanese. The stuff is strong, but not over-powering. In other words, you could drink this beer all of the time if price, and your tolerance level, weren't an issue. I highly suggest this be a beer that you rotate in the mix, especially at a party. Show them you are sophisticated.

4. Becks
Germany's finest, and still the best. What else is there really to be said? It should also be noted that Becks has a close runner up, Bitburger, which is actually one of the most popular beers in Germany. Both are available in the U.S., but Becks still takes the lead, due to better marketing, and less aftertaste. Helmstedt, which is where we stayed while in Germany, has a local brew: Feldschlossen. Very good beer in it's own right, and got us through some long nights in the Motherland. (note: not my Motherland)
5. Fosters
I first had a Fosters at a concert when I was 17. (yeah, great carding) I thought the oversized can was a joke, or special promotion. I soon found that Foster's IS Australian for beer. And I will never again question the size of the Foster's oil can.
