One Street Philadelphia - South Street
I have only been to Philly a few times, but every time I have been there it has been a party and a half. I stay downtown, and party downtown. The only thing I suggest in Philly is to not to walk alone. I have been more scared walking a block in downtown Philly at noon than I have been walking 60 blocks in New York at midnight. Despite this, you can have a great time on South Street. It is kind of a tourist trap, but at the same time you'll find some of the local bars in town. We went into a Irish pub on South Street last time I was there, and the bartender was fresh off the boat.(from Ireland) He had a cooler of beer behind him and I (yes, me) didn't recognize one of them! We commenced drinking, trying everything in sight. I am sure we were getting rowdy, and we saw a girl sitting at the end of the bar reading the paper. Now, I never have luck like this, but all we did was yell,"whatca reading?" and she closed her paper and came over. (I figured to slap one us) But not only did she not slap us, she bought a round of shots and explained that she lived in the apartment above the bar. I plead the 5th on the rest, but god it was a great night.
